Although the LaSalle Motorsports M96 Modified only ran a limited schedule in 2014, race fans and competitors surely took notice, as they had a great deal of success with Danny O’Brien behind the wheel in select events this season, including this past weekend during the 10th Annual Applefest Weekend at Brighton Speedway.
On Friday night, Jeremy and his Northwood2 Construction Sportsman team hit the track for a 35 lap DIRTcar Sportsman Series main event. It was a struggle early for LaSalle and would start the race from the 25th starting position. Jeremy had worked his way into the top 20 at one point, but would be credited with a 23rd place finish at the checkered flag. Danny O’Brien also took to the track on Friday night for a couple of warm up sessions in preparation of Saturday’s 100 lap race.
On Saturday night, Danny O’Brien was back behind the wheel of the LaSalle Motorsports Modified while Jeremy LaSalle was also in action with his Sportsman, competing against the Modifieds. LaSalle was able to set fast time in his group in practice, and finished fourth in his qualifying heat race. He started the 100 lap main event from the 22nd position. The entire night was about gaining valuable experience and it was mission accomplished for LaSalle. As for O’Brien, he had a very strong night, finishing second in his qualifying heat race, and starting the 100 lap race from the front row. O’Brien led the opening 20 laps of the race, and remained amongst the top three cars throughout the race and finished in third.
Jeremy LaSalle will return to Brockville for one final event on Saturday, October 18th as part of the 1000 Islands RV DIRTcar Northeast Fall Nationals. Danny O’Brien will also race that day in the LaSalle Motorsports M96 Modified in the Big Block Super DIRTcar Series race.

Danny O’Brien Takes LaSalle Motorsports Entry to a Sixth Place Finish in DIRTcar 358 Series Event at Mohawk Raceway
The 2014 season at Mohawk Raceway came to an end this past weekend as Danny O’Brien and his team, along with the LaSalle Motorsports team attended the Mohawk Nationals Weekend featuring a DIRTcar 358 Series race on Friday night and a Big Block Modified Super DIRTcar Series event on Saturday. O’Brien was back behind the wheel of the LaSalle Motorsports entry both nights.
On Friday night, O’Brien started the night off by timing third fastest in his time trial group, placing him third to start his qualifier. Danny finished the race in third, earning a spot in the all-important redraw for a top 12 starting spot in the 75 lap main event. After drawing position number nine, O’Brien lined up from the inside of row five and for the first 20 laps, it was a struggle. The first and only caution of the race came on lap 20 and O’Brien was riding in the 11th position. When the race resumed, he was finally able to work his way forward and was up to seventh as they hit lap 30. As the race progressed without a caution, passing was tough, but Danny found himself in a great battle for the sixth position over the final stages of the race and he would go on to finish in the sixth position.
“We missed the setup a little tonight, but it was still pretty good”, explained O’Brien after the race. “I really have to thank the crew, and the LaSalle Motorsports team for all their hard work, and allowing me to race their car this weekend”.
Saturday was a very frustrating day for everyone at Mohawk Raceway as drivers and fans alike waited out Mother Nature before the races finally got underway just before 11PM. To compound the frustration, DIRTcar officials elected to start the 100 lap main event with a lineup based on Super DIRTcar Series points, meaning O’Brien would have to come from the rear of the field with his 358 Modified against the more powerful Big Blocks on a very fast race track. O’Brien tried to battle with the Big Blocks, but was unsuccessful and pulled off the track with less than 30 laps complete.
LaSalle Motorsports and Mike and Lori’s Northwood 2 Construction business, would like to thank their 2014 sponsors. Jeremy LaSalle Battles to a 6th Place Finish on Saturday Night at the BOS
After getting rained out at Brockville Speedway the previous week, Jeremy LaSalle and the LaSalle Motorsports team were looking forward to Saturday night’s event at Brockville Speedway. The team posted a solid top ten finish in their last race and were looking to build some momentum as the summer heats up.
Mike and Lori LaSalle spent a good portion of the day on Saturday with their M96 as they displayed the car at Home Hardware in Brockville on Saturday afternoon while the crew worked hard back at the shop getting Jeremy’s sportsman car ready for action Saturday night. LaSalle finished his qualifier in fifth place, and reported back to the LaSalle Motorsports crew for some adjustments before the 25 lap feature later in the evening. Jeremy stared the feature from the seventh position and held that spot through the opening laps before getting caught up in a wreck and having to restart from the rear of the field. By the halfway point, LaSalle had climbed back up to eighth, and would come on strong at the finish to record a sixth place result.
Jeremy LaSalle will be back at Brockville Speedway this Saturday night for another regular race program. The following week, LaSalle will return for the second of three races in the Ogilvie’s Triple Crown Series. Jeremy finished fourth in the opening round on May 10th.

LaSalle Motorsports M96 Modified Returns to Action on Wednesday Night at Brockville Speedway With 10 Time BOS Champion Danny O’Brien
When the 2014 season began, the focus on the LaSalle Motorsports team was the Sportsman team with Mike and Lori LaSalle’s son Jeremy behind the wheel. The M96 Modified sat idle for the first few weeks of the season while Jeremy battled in the ultra-competitive Sportsman ranks, which included a top five finish on opening night.
Tomorrow night however, the traditional M96 LaSalle Motorsports ride returns to the BOS with Danny O’Brien behind the wheel as they take on the best of the best when the Big Block Modified Super DIRTcar Series rolls into town. O’Brien is amongst the best at Brockville Speedway with 10 career Modified track championships and numerous victories along the way.

Jeremy LaSalle Scores Impressive Top Five Finish on Opening Night at Brockville Ontario Speedway on Saturday Night
Opening night at Brockville Speedway had a much different feel for Jeremy LaSalle and the LaSalle Motorsports team than they have experienced over the last several years. The team’s focus was on Jeremy LaSalle and his Sportsman car, instead of the LaSalle Motorsports M96 Modified that has been action on a weekly basis at Brockville Speedway for the past decade.
Outside of a few starts at the end of the 2013 season, it has been almost 10 years since LaSalle last competed in the Sportsman division. Over that period, Jeremy took on the role of crew chief of the M96 Modified. The timing was right for Jeremy to get back behind the wheel this season.
Saturday night started off with time trials to determine the lineup for the qualifying heat races. LaSalle timed fourth in his group, placing him outside of row two for the preliminary qualifier. He maintained that position throughout the race, finishing in fourth. The team made some adjustments to the car for the 40 lap main event, and lined up from the ninth position. Jeremy exercised a great deal of patience in the first few laps of the event. The first caution was displayed on lap nine, and LaSalle had advanced just one spot to eighth. As the laps counted down, the car got better, and by halfway he was up to fifth place. Over the second half of the race, LaSalle had one of the fastest cars on the track and advanced one more position to finish fourth.
“It was a good start to the season for us. The car was really good, especially towards the end of the race”, says LaSalle. “We are looking forward to getting back here next week and try to get the car just a little bit better”.
