When the 2014 season began, the focus on the LaSalle Motorsports team was the Sportsman team with Mike and Lori LaSalle’s son Jeremy behind the wheel. The M96 Modified sat idle for the first few weeks of the season while Jeremy battled in the ultra-competitive Sportsman ranks, which included a top five finish on opening night.
Tomorrow night however, the traditional M96 LaSalle Motorsports ride returns to the BOS with Danny O’Brien behind the wheel as they take on the best of the best when the Big Block Modified Super DIRTcar Series rolls into town. O’Brien is amongst the best at Brockville Speedway with 10 career Modified track championships and numerous victories along the way.
“We are really excited to have Danny O’Brien back in one of our cars for Wednesday night”, says team owner Mike LaSalle. “He truly is one of the best in the business and we are looking forward to working with him again”.
O’Brien last drove for LaSalle Motorsports in 2007 where he scored a fifth place finish during the Applefest Weekend at Brighton Speedway.

Jeremy LaSalle Scores Impressive Top Five Finish on Opening Night at Brockville Ontario Speedway on Saturday Night
Opening night at Brockville Speedway had a much different feel for Jeremy LaSalle and the LaSalle Motorsports team than they have experienced over the last several years. The team’s focus was on Jeremy LaSalle and his Sportsman car, instead of the LaSalle Motorsports M96 Modified that has been action on a weekly basis at Brockville Speedway for the past decade.
Outside of a few starts at the end of the 2013 season, it has been almost 10 years since LaSalle last competed in the Sportsman division. Over that period, Jeremy took on the role of crew chief of the M96 Modified. The timing was right for Jeremy to get back behind the wheel this season.
Saturday night started off with time trials to determine the lineup for the qualifying heat races. LaSalle timed fourth in his group, placing him outside of row two for the preliminary qualifier. He maintained that position throughout the race, finishing in fourth. The team made some adjustments to the car for the 40 lap main event, and lined up from the ninth position. Jeremy exercised a great deal of patience in the first few laps of the event. The first caution was displayed on lap nine, and LaSalle had advanced just one spot to eighth. As the laps counted down, the car got better, and by halfway he was up to fifth place. Over the second half of the race, LaSalle had one of the fastest cars on the track and advanced one more position to finish fourth.
“It was a good start to the season for us. The car was really good, especially towards the end of the race”, says LaSalle. “We are looking forward to getting back here next week and try to get the car just a little bit better”.
