This past weekend, LaSalle Motorsports made the decision to travel to Mohawk International Raceway in Hogansburg, New York for their season ending weekend events, featuring a DIRTcar 358 Modified Series race scheduled for Friday night, as well as a Big Block Modified Super DIRTcar Series race on Saturday night.
The LaSalle Motorsports team, along with hired gun Lee Ladouceur arrived at Mohawk Raceway on Friday afternoon. A persistent drizzle fell over the Speedway throughout the early afternoon, and with the heavy rainfall from the past couple days, track officials made a decision to postpone Friday night’s event to Sunday afternoon.
On Saturday night, the team continued with their plans to attempt to qualify for the Big Block Modified Super DIRTcar Series. Ladouceur was solid in the opening time trial session, posting the fourth fastest speed in his group, giving him the fourth position to start his qualifying heat race. Despite the disadvantage of being in a Small Block against the more powerful Big Blocks, Ladouceur advanced to finish third, earning a spot in the redraw for a top 12 starting spot in the 100 lap main event. By luck of the random draw, Ladouceur would start the race from the outside of the front row. The race went green for the first 18 laps, and Ladouceur continued to run well, holding a top five position. Although the handling started to go away as the reached halfway, Lee continued to run inside the top ten. As the race progressed, handling issues continued to worsen, and by the end of the race, Ladouceur crossed the finish line with a 13th place result.
The following afternoon was the rescheduled 358 Modified DIRTcar Series race. Lee was fast early, placing third in his time trial group and raced his way to second place in his heat race, once again earning a spot in the redraw for a top 12 position for the 75 lap main event. A sixth place starting spot was selected, and Lee fired from the outside of row three. The track conditions were unfavorable to be on the outside lane, and Ladouceur faded early. After falling into position, Lee regrouped, but contact from another car on lap 34 sent him spinning, taking him out of the race.
This coming weekend, Lee Ladouceur and the LaSalle Motorsports team will travel to Brighton Speedway on Saturday night for their annual Applefest Weekend, featuring another round of 358 Modified DIRTcar Series action. The team will then make a decision on the rest of the season schedule that could include the satellite events at Super DIRT Week. The season will conclude on October 18th to 20th at Brockville Speedway for the 1000 Islands RV DIRTcar Northeast Fall Nationals.

LaSalle Motorsports Ends Regular Season at Brockville Speedway With Mixed Results; Unveils Website Redesign from Finish Line Web Design
It was just a few weeks ago that LaSalle Motorsports and Lee Ladouceur teamed up, and together they have progressively been and better each week. That continued this past week as they wrapped up the 2013 regular season at Brockville Speedway on Saturday night.
It quickly became apparent that the LaSalle Motorsports team could be the team to beat, setting fast time in the time trial session. Lee Ladouceur backed that up with a strong run in his qualifying heat race, taking the win, and earning a front row starting spot for the night’s 50 lap main event. Ladouceur maintained a top five position through the opening 12 laps of the race, until a flat tire sent him to the pits. After a quick pit stop, Lee returned to the track and restarted from the tail of the field. After making steady progress, Lee was back inside the top 15 before they completed the halfway point of the race, and climbed inside the top ten as the lap counter hit lap 41. Just a few laps later, the car began to overheat, and Ladouceur returned to the pit area before the race was completed.
"It was not the finish we had hoped for", says Ladouceur after the race. "We just got caught up with some lapped traffic and got a right front flat tire. The crew did a great job changing it and we were able to get back up to the top ten before the motor started to overheat. I really have to thank Mike, Lori and Jeremy LaSalle and the entire LaSalle Motorsports team for providing such a great car.
Jeremy LaSalle brought his new Sportsman car to the track for the first time on Saturday night. Although he didn’t race, he did take the car our for some practice laps later in the evening, giving the car a shakedown before entering the race at Brighton Speedway on Friday, September 20th as part of their annual Applefest Weekend.
Lee Ladouceur will also be back with the LaSalle Motorsports team at Applefest Weekend at Brighton Speedway on September 21st for their 100 lap DIRTcar 358 Modified series event. The team will conclude their 2013 season at Brockville Speedway for the 1000 Islands RV DIRTcar Northeast Fall Nationals on October 18th to 20th. It is also possible that they will travel to Super DIRT Week earlier in October and race the 358 Modified Series events at Cayuga County Fair Speedway and Rolling Wheels Raceway, although the team has not confirmed that at this time.
